Thank you Jan for the years we spent together at Kampsax Kollegiet. We have had a lot of fun together, and it has been very interesting following Kuriko and you around the world. The picture was taken summer 2012, when you visited us in Holstebro.

Thanks for your prior congratulations, and I wish you could've seen us graduate. You were an integral part of my smile that day. I will make sure to never forget what you've done for me.
I enjoyed learning from you - whether it was Physics, astronomy, or practicing Japanese and Danish together, I'll never forget your wisdom. May you rest in paradise and my condolences.

I am so glad and grateful that I got to work with you as much as I did, Jan. For your family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. From my own perspective, Jan was always a joy to work with and I will miss him terribly.
Our last dinner last summer.
I still remember the delightful evening we spent.
Jan-san,
Thank you for all the beautiful memories. Your big smile always made me happy. I will not forget you!!
Dear Yan san,
Miss you so so much.
I feel so sad.
You will be remembered in our mind forever.
It was really nice meeting you and chatting in the office last year. It is so sad this happened so abruptly.
My deepest condolence to Kuriko and Jan's family for this loss.
Jan-san, it's hard to accept, but I believe you are peace in heaven. I'll forever treasure the moment we shared.
Thank you and Rest in peace.
Dear Jan, it's so sudden and unbelievable ! I hope you'll support and protect Kuriko form the sky forever. Rest In Peace, Ryoko Mizoguchi
It was great to catch up in Denmark!
It is surreal that I am at the stage in my career that we were at when you were co-supervising me in my Masters. You were such a lovely person to work with! You weren't condescending and made me feel like a collaborator. I have no doubt that you inspired many future scientists!
Jan, I've only known you for a short time, but it's been an honor to have known you. Nothing but honesty coming out from you and the presence you give will definitely be missed. You've done so well fighting, rest in peace.
Jan-san.
I want see you.

Jan,
I don't know what should I say.
You were such a nice guy.
I had many good times with you.
I really miss you.
Sending my deepest sympathy.
I'm sorry to know that you have gone, Jan. You were always so kind and helpful to me. I hope you are at peace now.
Very hard to accept. After many years I still often recall Jan’s time here at Purdue – good science, earnest personal conversations (especially after a couple of drinks). Just recently we discussed a collaborative project – which will not happen...
Thank you Jan!
For being a great friend at Kampsax.
For teaching me the wonder in a Belgian beer on a snow covered bench with good company.
For letting me follow your travels in academia around the world.
For you and Kuriko meeting me in Copenhagen for a wonderful afternoon

Sorgen og gleden de vandrer til hope,
Lykke og ulykke kommer på rad. Medgang så ofte på motgang vil rope,
Solskinn og skyer de følges og ad.

Jan. Thank you for many fun moments in and around the study period at Kampsax. I will miss your always good mood and your good stories. I often think back at that time and our trips together. Our thoughts go out to your family at this difficult time. R.I.P.
