After a heroic 6 year battle with lung cancer, my beautiful, selfless, kind-beyond words, patient, stylish mother Marie sadly passed away peacefully Monday morning - 21 October, 2024. In the toughest time of my life, I can only be grateful that she was able to pass peacefully after a long struggle, surrounded by the love of my sisters, father and I. We were all able to tell her several times what she meant for us and her final words to each of us was "Jag älskar dig". Words at times like these are hard to find and will never truly describe the incredible person and influence that she had on me but I want to try. She was the glue in every friendship group, and there were many. A person impossible not to like, who brought people together, time and time again. She warmly welcomed our friends and people important to us into our family instantly with a warmth that made them feel comfortable. Incredibly proud of her family and her friends, she shared every accomplishment and detail of her children, grandchildren or friends with whoever would listen. Her extreme selfless nature and immense love, while impossible for me to match, is something that will inspire me for the rest of my life. Even during the last days of her life, her primary thought was everyone else. Her love and dedication to my sisters, father and I throughout our lives and the many sacrifices she made have given us the most incredible foundation to become who we are today. The greatest gift anyone can give. For 6 years, many people would hardly be able to say she was sick because she didn't complain, she didn't self-pity. She continued to look incredible and stylish. She focused on the positives. She seemed unfazed while at times inwardly struggling with things that would stop most of us in our tracks. In the past months she was in pain, and yet, many have commented how quickly she passed and what a surprise it was. That's because she never truly let on to her struggle. Her strength, resilience and resolve is unmatched by anyone I have ever met. Never burdoning anyone. That's not even skimming the surface of who she was. The many stories shared by those who knew and loved her are really warming the heart in these tough times. A gaping hole in our lives is now present, and however difficult it is, we are shifting to focus on the positives. She has brought so much love and affection to this world and wherever she is I have no doubt she is looking incredibly stylish in Purple, re-kindling old friendships and relationships and making others feel good in her calm, humble and collected way. 💜 Mamma 💜 Farmor 💜 Vi älskar dig.
